Summer night -
Young lovers flirting
On the propane tank.
*
Museum in winter -
In the dinosaur skeleton,
A few bones are missing.
*
So light they might
Rise from my hand –
My baby teeth.
*
The farm wife
Is an artist, she draws
Curtains.
*
In the garden
All morning, tending,
Being tended.
*
No one owns
A favorite
Skipping stone.
*
Practicing kissing,
The boy makes
The mirror blush.
*
After hours –
One barber giving
The other a trim.
*
His father doesn’t know
The boy is fishing
With a bare hook.
*
Toy soldier –
Something off
About his face.
*
Two cutting boards
Lean on each other,
Comparing scars.
*
Winter moonlight –
I pass my hand
Into the scythe.
