Every window is a Christian,
Every crescent moon a Muslim,
Every star a Jew.
The window lets the moon and stars shine through.
The stars keep the moon company.
The moon holds a few stars in its silver arms.
Peaceful are windows though they carry their crosses high.
Peaceful are crescent moons though they’re sometimes mistaken for scythes.
Peaceful are stars though they suggest heaven is bullet-riddled.
If only every Christian were like a window,
Every Muslim like a crescent moon,
Every Jew like a star.
