McDonald's: Corner of 24th and Mission
McDonald’s: Corner of 24th and Mission
Come in under my golden arches.
You won’t find a cheaper meal.
Two dollars can keep you fed for two days.
If you have no money,
Reach into the trash.
In the paper bags crumpled tight as brains
You’ll find cold fries, torn buns, pickles
Kids picked out of their burgers.
There are plenty of places to sit.
Stay upright and awake
And no one will tell you to leave.
You need a code for the bathroom,
But just ask and it will be given you.
I am your refuge, your ark
Riding the waters that have drowned the world,
And these golden arches the sign
Of the everlasting covenant between us,
Me, a corporation, and you, the poor.
